21 year old, Ciara Princess Harris was born in Austin, Texas where she grew up in army bases in Germany, New York, California, Arizona and Nevada, since her father was in the United States Army (wikipedia).
Her first debut single, 'Goodies' from the Goodies album became a hit in the RnB/Hip Hop charts and it sold over 2 million copies in the United States. Missy Elliott then featured in her second single 1,2 Step and it reached number 2 in the U.S.A and number 3 in the U.K. Ludacris also featured in her 3rd single, 'Oh'.
Since then, Ciara has featured in many other RnB/Hip Hop artist's songs and film clips. This includes, Missy Elliott's single Lose Control from her album, The Cookbook and also, her boyfriend at the the time, Bow Wow's single 'Like you' from his album, Wanted. Since then, she released her 4th single, 'And I', however it did not do very well on the charts compared to her other singles.
In 2006, Ciara won her first Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video alongside Missy Elliott and she was also nominated for the "Video of the Year" award with Missy Elliot and "Best Collaboration" with Bow Wow at the 2006 BET Awards, which she didn't attend (wikipedia).
Her new album Ciara: The Evolution, has just been released, with her first single Get Up which also features the lead characters from the new movie Step Up. Ciara will feature on P Diddy's new song called 'Wanna Move' from his latest album 'Press Play' and she will also be working with Big Boi of Outkast and his protegee, Scar.
