Cornell Haynes Jnr is Nelly's, the famous American rapper's, name. He was born in Austin, Texas but raised in St Louis, Missouri and now at the age of 31 he has sold over 30 million albums world-wide. Nelly has two children, 12 years old Chanel and 7 year old Cornell Haynes III aka Tre. Who would have known?
His well known songs such as Ride with me, Where the party at and Over and Over hit number 3 on the U.S hot 100. Hot in Herre, Shake your tailfeather, Dilemma and Grilzz also hit number 1 on the U.S hot 100.
Nelly has had 11 nominations and has won 4 Grammy Awards. He won the 'Best Rap Album' (Country Grammar), 'Best Rap/Sung collaboration' (Dilemma), 'Best male rap solo performance' (Hot in Herre) and 'Best Rap Perfomance by a duo or group' (Shake Your Tailfeather).
Nelly also accomplished in high school to be a baseball player and he was drafted to play baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates at one point in his life. Nelly started two new trends which was wearing a sports jerseys backward. In other words instead of the player's name appearing on the back it would appear on his chest.
