Thirty five year old, Mary J Blige, has won three Grammy awards for RnB/ Hip Hop singer, producer and songwriter. The album debuted at #1 on both the R&B albums and Billboard 200 albums charts (Wikipedia).
Unless you have been a major fan of Mary J Blige and you have followed her music religiously, very few people would know that her music has been around since 1992. Her very first albums were, ' What's the 411',
'My Life' which was released in 1994 and 'Share my world' which was released in 1997. Her music started to gain popularity and she started to become a well- known singer to a wider audience when she released the album, 'No more Drama' in 2001 and 'Love and Life' in 2003.
Her music has flourished throughout the decade and Mary J Blige just keeps on coming back with more fresh and meaningful songs. She is a true soul singer.
The production of her new album Breakthrough included Rodney Jerkins, will.i.am, Bryan Michael Cox, 9th Wonder, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Raphael Saadiq, Cool and Dre, Dre & Vidal, and includes a duet with U2 on the cover of the 1992 U2 hit, "One." (Wikipedia).
